Noob needing help on etherdongle
« on: March 09, 2013, »
Hi guys I bought my etherdongle built the issue I have is that the lights on the magjack don't light up when I plug into the computer, I have tried to connect to two computers and also my router but still nothing, the light on the etherdongle is lit and I have flashed it twice with my pickit3, I'm trying to run it on vixen on windows 7.

Is there any configuration I need to do on the computer or is it the etherdongle.

Thanks Steve.

Voltage regulators are in the correct spot?

What power supply are you using?

What output device are you using in Vixen?

Have you installed the proper Vixen plugin from the Wiki?

Sometimes adding photo's of both sides of the board helps as some member are very quick in noticing little possibilities.

Hi there
I have checked the voltage regulators and they are in the correct positions.

Power Supply is 6V =0.8A

And i have placed the etherdongle.dll and the pixel net.dll in the output folder in Vixen

I will post photos in better light later.

Thanks Steve.

You have placed the .dll files in the folder of Vixen, but have you selected them in the output plugins in Vixen?

Lights on the magic jack are a basic functionality problem. Has the pic been programmed?

If you got the EtD as a kit, it does not come programmed. If you bought it from someone else, do you know if it was working before?

Hi when setting up a sequence- in sequence plugin mapping etherdongle is in the plugins in use column i take it that that is all I'm required to do.

I tried programming the pic twice with the pixelnet ver2 firmware and it confirms it with pickit3, the etherdongle was advertised as assembled and fully functional.
