Zeus Planning Question
« on: April 30, 2013, »
Good Morning All,

The SSC V4 Coop that just came out made me think of something. Does anyone know what the odds are that there will be a Coop for the Zeus outside of the academy prior to the upcoming season or should I not count on it and buy additional SSC's?

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Good question as I am in same boat.  If there isn't a COOP there should be at least be kits/boards left.  I am considering arranging a fellow member going to the Academy to grab one and ship to me.   ;D
Sam, who is happy he flashed his etherdongle with newest firmware!

I'm hoping at a minimum there will be boards in the store after the academy
2011 - Year #1
    4000 lights and 16 channels
    5 Songs sequenced
2012 - Year #2
    5000 lights and 123 channels
    8 Songs sequenced

I think that they would, as not all 3000 of us can attend. i can't speak for RJ, but I think this is more of an incentive to get people to come to the event.

The rest of us just have to wait longer!   lol

That thought actually crossed my mind too. I am fine with that, I am not complaining. :-)

The plan is that the different Zeus controllers will be avaliable for all. We are just opening it all up at the Academy with the introduction of the units and the training on how to work with them.

Different Zeus controllers?

The Zeus controllers that will be at the show will probably be the prototype controllers that the Beta testers will be working with.  I would suspect that there will be no coop for them utill the Beta testing is over and sometimes changes are made to correct unexpected issues.  If this happens then we will be getting diferent boards then the ones being offered in the exclusive show coop.

The controller cooped at the show are the same. The coop will start at the show and what ever spots are left will be made available on the forum after the show.

We just tweaked the firmware the hardware has not changed.

Hi RJ,

I attended the class today showing the Zeus controller, and you showed the new SS utility that would be used along with it.  Will that utility be available when the Zeus is released or when will it be available?

Thanks again for all you do RJ - you continue to amaze us!

It will be available likely before the coop runs its course. I have to the last color order to it and let the beta guys play with it for a few weeks more after to make sure this addition did not create any new issues. Then it will be ready.

So it's clear this is not a separate program but a update to the SSC utility that adds the Zeus stuff.

Great - Thanks RJ

Yes, an update to the file makes sense, I have seen the updated files there from the last update.  Thanks for the info and I look forward to it!!
