Tester Question
« on: May 20, 2013, »
Can you test more than one Universe at a time?  I've got 6 universes setup and I can test each one individually, but can I send the test sequence to all 6 simultaneously?  I can't seem to figure out how if it is possible.

Thanks.

Have you installed the newer versions?  Doesn't sound like it.

The "old" versions had each universe on a separate page.

Now, they are all on one page (a very long list if using an Etherdongle and you install all 32 DMX universes)

Ron I guess it might depend on what universes. I have 4 pixelnet universes @ 16384 and can test all of them at once. I have not tried to add another 16384 yet, but I am pretty sure you can do it.

I just downloaded and installed it last night on this computer so I thought it was the most recent version.  I'll check that shortly and reply back.

Ugh, I grabbed it from the Sourceforge site which hasn't been updated with recent versions so I had 2012b.  Sorry for the confusion.  I've got an updated version now and I can test all the universes at the same time.

I need to not start a new project when I'm tired.

Thanks.

Wow
2012b is way out of date. Now you have the Nutcracker addition to play with.

I took the latest code from Matt last January. It was 2012e. I and Dave Pitts have been enhancing the Nutcracker portion of xLights.

So in summary, my link is the latest xLights plus the latest Nutcracker.

Go here to get the latest xLights and the latest Nutcracker

When i took over the xLights/nutcracker i moved the code tree into github.

is the latest. I moved to github in case i screwed things up and i like github better for cvs.

Matt has put development of xLights on hold since like last February. He has stated that he needs to focus on his work but expects to be back working xlights/nutcracker later in the year. At the time he did this he handed over the reins of xLights to me.

I am lucky to have Dave Pitts helping in the code development. Currently, it is just the two of us.

Currently xLights is around 20K lines of code, Nutcracker tab is about 5K lines. So I work in 25% of the code space and just dont touch the stuff I dont understand.

I had 24 universes of E1.31 or 12288 channels for my show. It worked great.

thanks
