Hub questions
« on: September 20, 2013, »
Been away for a while and am late on the coops.

Looking for active hub pcbs, but the store only shows passive available (if up to date).

If I can't find an active hub pcb, can I do the following:

pc ->  pixelnet dongle -> lynx equipment -> passive hub -> ssc

Trying to determine if I can do pixels this year or just wait for next.

Will there be extra zeus pcbs w/ the current coop?

Sorry guys, guess I was looking at the wrong store page.  There does appear to be an active hub pcb available.

For future reference.  You only need an active hub if you want to convert some of the channels to DMX.  Otherwise the passove hub works fine.

Yes.  I think I understand that.  Can you put DMX in front of the hubs (either active or passive) after a dongle flashed for pixelnet?

No, once flashed with pixelnet firmware all dongles only output pixelnet. The active hub can mirror 512 pixelnet channels with dmx channels with a jumper determining the channel range. The active hub is generating the dmx not the dongle.
