xlights effect not showing up on vixen

i am able to create my effects in xlights, get them exported to vixen as a vir file. when i go to the vixen sequence and try to load a routine, the routine is in the list of effects, but when i load the routine into the vixen sequence, nothing shows up.

are you using the routine loader plugin by emmanuel miranda?

The normal routine loader has a problem.

get emmanuel's 3 addins here

i just created a vir file and put it in the ../Vixen2.1.1/Routines directory

I then used the "Vixen Routine Loader" in Add-Ins to loa dit, it inserted fine.

yes i am using the routine loader by Emmanuel,  no data showing up in the sequence.

view the vir file in an editor , are there non zero values?

if there are then where do they start. it is possible, you have a setup in xlights that defines like 5000 channels and your model starts at 4900. it could then paste all zeroes and you wouldnt notice.

here is one of the vir files that i am trying to open.

this vir file is completely empty, it only has zeroes.

In your "6804 Pixels" model you have overwritten the channel assignment and manually set it to start at channel 39,793. Do you really have channel counts that high?

overwriting the channels is a special case.

You could turn off the override by removing the click mark in the RED circle and then setting the real starting channel of this model in the BLUE circle.

not sure how or why or when I would have done that. lol my profile on vixen is going to have 12288 channels, I will be running 7200 pixelnet channels. I will try again and go in and change that info. if i'm starting my tree on universe 2,channel 1(4097 in vixen), do I use start channel of 1 in xlights or channel 4097? I planned on just doing vir files so I could copy and paste in vixen.

xlights is the easiest of all to setup, you use channel 4097. always just use channels from 1-12288

hardware starts over at 1 in every universe, channels go from 1 - "infinity and beyond" when sequencing.

I changed the channel count to what you said. still getting blank on the vir file. still all 0's in the xml file. not sure what i'm doing wrong.

how come  I can export a single row effect as a .vir file, but couldn't get one to export with 5 timing marks? same model with both.  I was able to export a .vix file and import it that way but would rather be able to do a .vir so I don't have to copy and paste all of my sequences or each timing mark. is there a limit to the size of a .vir file?
