Help with SSC V3
« on: October 28, 2013, »
Hey all,
I am having an odd issue.
I decided to trip my house this year with pixels and my SSC V3's
Everything is working but one strand of lights has the last three pixels that stay on all the time.
they are a blue green in color.
Any idea what i have done wrong?
All the other strands work great

I would swap ssc's with one that works to see if it is a configuration or hardware issue of the ssc itself. If it doesn't move it is most likely either the first node that stays on or the one just before it that has a bad output causing the ones behind it to be on.

I doubt that it is the SSC but anything is possible.  How are you testing them?  Are you using the test firmware or are you running a test routine such as X-Lights RGB test?  How long and what sype of string are you using?
If at first you don't succeed,
your not cut out for sky diving

I am not using the test firmware.
I had tested this before I hung them on the house and everything was good.
i think it is probably the output on a node.
It is the last three lights that stay on, and they are always on.
They are on the house now so i guess i will wait until i set up christmas to fix it.
Thanks.

UGH!!! Don't follow any of my posts....I just spent the last three weekends cursing up a storm with bad nodes. With any luck it's just the node before the one that's staying on....I go up on the roof now with two nodes connected together with butt splices, strippers, new node and liquid tape....Good luck troubleshooting. I do suggest though, swapping out the SSC with another as recommended earlier just to be sure it's not that...
