Is there a case for the SS Hubs?
« on: November 07, 2013, »
Looking at the BOM and the assembly manual, I don't see a case mentioned for any of the SS Hubs.

Is there one recommended?

I'm asking specifically for the 16 port active.

Thanks.

They typically get installed into a group24 battery box from walmart.  You throw PS in the bottom and then mount the board across the top ... usually mounted using the DIY method of your choice.  Mine have wood blocks on the sides glued (epoxied) to the box ... then the board has four screwns into that.  Other have used nicer methods.

I used 2 pieces of pvc long enough to keep the pcb above the power supply. that way the board wasn't permanent and I could pull it out if need be. I used a 27 series battery box, little more wiggle room.

If you're mounting your power supply remotely they fit well in a CG-1000 enclosure.
