PIC chip socket backwards
« on: November 18, 2013, »
I goofed up and soldered the PIC chip socket backwards.  The notch on the one end of the socket is now on the opposite side as the notch in the silk screen on the board.

I'm guessing that's its not a big deal and I'll just have to make sure the actual PIC chip lines up with the silk screen on the board as opposed to the socket.  Is that correct thinking?

You are right... just put the PIC in to agree with the silkscreen on the PCB

You could use a silver marking pen to put a dot at the correct end of the socket as an extra reminder.
