why would only half of my elements show up in vixen? I created a sequence in xlights and converted to vixen but only half of my elements are showing up in the vixen sequence?

1. convert old vixen file to xlights
2. create new sequence in xlights
3. delete new xlights sequence so the old sequence reads the new xml file
4. convert back to vixen
5. only half of my display elements show up with data.

I'm trying to some the same thing.  Trying to fill in some holes in an old vixen seq where I have replaced incans with RGB.  Something sounds off on your process, but I'm at a loss at the moment.  I'm trying to get back outside and finish some more mounting while its daylight and warmer.  I am renaming things to keep them straight.  Fixed a couple of things in one of my 2012 sequences and renamed the updated version as 2013 ver1 ....  Will be back at this tonight.

When converting from XLights to Vixen it is a long process. I cut off part of my first sequence because I did not wait and watch the messages in the bottom left of Nutcrackers tab. I have had no issues since. If you have a huge channel count you will find it rakes a few minutes for a full export.

i just tried the export feature and it is missing the same 1636 channels that contain my house outlines.  why would they play while testing but not save in the sequence when exporting? i am going to go threw and check my set up on xlights but there really isn't much to change.

Have saved them to the xml (folder) before the export? This will also take a few seconds to finish saving. Watch the bottom left of the screen to see it finish.  Than you can export.

If that is all correct, you may need to increase your channel count in the profile in Vixen. I suggest copy your profile and rename it and then add the channels needed.

profiles are 12288 channels both in vixen and xlights. the channels that are missing are from 350-2036. my vixen profile is in xlights. when I play my existing vixen sequences that have data on those channels, everything runs fine as well.

it helps if you have "part of my display" checked in model set up. all is working now. exported over 8,000 channels in a matter of seconds!

This is why I have suggested always using the open tab in profile. It has the ability to reset the part of my display on your models.
