Alternating effect

In vixen and xlights test mode I can easily create a red/green alternating effect. Is it just as easy to do in nutcracker? What effect would I use to do the same thing? Trying a few different things with the candy canes I made.

try a 2 color chase in the singlestrand effect class maybe.
