Interesting Issue
« on: December 06, 2013, »
I programmed an SSC the other day using a spare set of RGB lights, but when I took it out to the yard I noticed something strange.  The starting node is in the middle of the string!  It continues to the end, then wraps around to the opposite end of the string and finishes back in the middle!

I had the lights working properly on a different SSC previously (till the weather got to the RJ45 connectors).

Has anyone else seen this?  Think it could be something to do with the previous weather situation?

The SSC and lights are now using 4 pin weather proof connectors.

Could you have set the "null" mode setting to something other than 0 ?

While anything is "possible", I've never intentionally made any changes to the null nodes.  I tested the controller out on the string that I initially programmed the SSC on and it worked fine at the time.  The issue didn't occur until I got it out into the yard.  I have to admit it has me scratching my head.

just a wag, but what about having wired it from the wrong end of the chips, don't ask me how I know to pay more attention to direction arrows!

Is everything on the right universe? If you programmed a start channel above 4096 (which I've done before erroneously) it won't map to the right light. I was often off by two nodes !
