Starburst Posting
« on: December 23, 2013, »
In the Aug 29th vimeo tutorial for N 3.1.3 there was a quick flash to a posting by Steve Gase on a test of a starburst using pex tubes.  It appears that posting was in an area I can't access (Think Tank/Tidbits).  I'd like to see the post and learn more if there is a way to get there!  :-) Doug

Thank you Steve.  That was the posting.  I guess I was just too much of a forum 'lurker' to have been granted access to everything.  It looks like a great idea and it has my gears turning with the possibilities.  --D

Yes!  It was combustionmark's idea -- even the use of the porcupine ball.

Sorry they looked exactly alike. Didn't remember the name of who had shown it there.

I posted some pictures of my first build, this is the ones I took to Texas in July. Took me a while to find it again.

I had to finish building the ball at the show, and turned it on for the first time there. I had no sequences done for it, so there was only 1 nutcracker effect that was on display. The matrix sequences took more time than I expected.

Steve did a great job with his build, And as always he did a great job in documenting his build.

My build is a lot harder to do, and a bit scary on the end of a 20 foot pole, but when the tree was finished it looked great.

One day I hope to get a camera to get some videos. Tom "tmcteer" posted this video.
