Light control software question
« on: December 26, 2013, »
Hi,

I don't know much about any of the software used for lighting control, but I do know what I'm looking for, so I'm hoping maybe some of the experts can help direct me.

What I'd like to do is to be able to call up and run preprogrammed lighting sequences with external triggers from another program. Basically to use a macro from another program to trigger the lighting sequence to start.

Do any of the softwares used have this kind of capability?

Thanks for your input,
Jeff

There are various solutions out there.  You'll need to consider cost.

Nutcracker is free... and the team plans to add a scriptable interface in the coming year.  Otherwise Nutcracker (and other solutions) will run a sequence from a schedule.

Take a look at the etherdongle with conductor with the trigger board. With a small usb relayboard you could do a whole lot.
