singing face
« on: January 18, 2014, »
Anybody have a sample of a sequence for a singing face they would be willing to share?  Also, what controller is the ssr4 that is dmx capable.  Or can i use it without the freestyle?  Please say yes...  lol

You can add the DMX option to the SSR4 and that makes it an independant 4 channel DMX controller.

That is because the SSR4 is not an output device.  It receives DMX signals and controls the lights.  You would need some type of DMX dongle to sent the DMX signal that it uses.  You can use the Lynks DMX dongle, the EtherDongle flashed with DMX, the output of the DMX converter from the smart hub or any or the other DMX output devices in the LSP list.

You can load a Lynx Express, just make it 4 channels.

If you look in the WIKI it will show you how to set a starting address for the SSR4.  Once that is set, then you just use it and the next three channels in your sequencer.  All you should have to set up is the lynks dongle.  That is the output device.  The sequencer doesn't know or care what devices that you are controlling (with the possible exception of RGB or single), only how to get the signal out.

You are welcome and no problem.  I have yet to attend a mini myself.  I just don't see any here in NC.  RJ did say that he was planning a convention this summer but I don't believe that a date has been set yet.  If and when one is set, I would suggest that you attend as there is much to learn.

There you go, and you are at the right place to learn for sure. Have you programmed the start channels on your ssr4's?

I don't use LSP so what exactly is the purpose of defining the controllers?

LOL...  nope.  actually dont even have them yet!   >:D  And im not sure how to do that yet...  last year was my first year with Lynx equipment with 2 expresses.  Before that was just the typical Mr Christmas 6 ch outdoor box.  I did pretty well if I say so myself...  my wife and neighbors were all happy (mostly cuz of the FM transmitter i think)  haha

Pm me if you need some more exact LSP help.

Just pull a Lynx controller into your sequence.  Right click on it and choose configure.  Instead of 16 channels put 4, and rename it.  on the channel tab you can change what channel the 4 start at.
