LD1117 Regulator Hot on SSC v2
« on: May 15, 2014, »
I have v2 SSC that was working great, while troubleshooting some bad nodes, I may have shorted leads.  Anyway, SSC has no output, but LD1117 is very hot to touch. I'm I correct in assuming I fried the regulator?

Thanks
Jimmy

While possible, you may have fried the PIC.  I would remove the PIC and see if the regulator still gets hot.  If you managed to short the data line to the +12V lead, that can pretty much fry the PIC.
If at first you don't succeed,
your not cut out for sky diving

Thanks for advise. I'll pull PIC and go from there.
