Dave Pitts, the 2 million view sequence
-------------------------------------------------

Dave and I run out of time to sequence our shows. We are still working code right up to the final week.
This means we usually use the "Create Random Effects" and tweak to get our shows up. Our shows are no way as good as what most of you create. We just dont put enough time into them.
This year Dave and I both had BenQ 770 projectors on our garage doors. Every year, Dave always includes some patriotic music along with his Christmas show. Falcon, Colorado is right next to Colorado Springs , the location of the Air Force Academy.
So, Dave's audience does contain many service men and women.

So Dave sequenced The Madison Rising song "Star Spangled banner" in less than 30 minutes.

Dave just found out yesterday that his neighbor filmed this sequence. Dave's sequence has been viewed 2.2 million times. Dave and I wondered how did that happen? Well, it has been shared almost 100,000 times. Apparently it struck a  chord with the military folks and they shared it around the world.

Dave, thanks for remembering our military!

The  neighbor posted it on the Madison Rising band facebook page. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Daves show had 2.2 million views and 100,000 shares.

So how did Dave discover this? Yesterday he received a package in the mail,. It contained two band tee-shirts and some cd's. It had a note saying something lile "Thanks for the show". I think this band would never have received this many ears listening to their music, they owe Dave.  Dave then researched and found the video and the neighbors name. A neighbor who he has not talked to. A video he was unaware had been created the first week of December.

Good Karma

BTW, I helped dave build his megatree out of 12v ws2811's. I think it came out nice for just a few hours work.
You can also see the north poles we built this last summer.

Dave took 20-30 minutes to sequence this using xlights 3.6.15.
It is not the best sequencing but it touched a chord.

I think it was
1) Because he said thank you to the military. Although he did read one of the responses of "Where is the Coast Guard"?
2) It had the huge flag and was patriotic
3) Nice sequence. Whole house model (again, thanks Dave!), made the sequence tie together very nice

I think the military feels forgotten sometimes (My son is in Afghanistan) and really respond to a simple thank you.
The sharing nearly 100,000 times was pretty amazing.

Again, very nice Dave!
