Single Power Mod

This pretty much makes sense to me but i want to make sure.

Instead of worrying about doing a single power mod, couldn't i just plug both power to one outlet and limit the overall to 20 amps since the single power mod maximum is 20 amps anyways?

That way I can switch between dual power or single power without needing to mod it to single power and deal with switching it back to dual power in the future?

Yes,

 The limit is then 40 amps or until the circuit breaker on that circuit pops! which ever happens first!  ;D

I thought I saw Rrowan with the left and right AC input screw terminals connected with a pair of (16awg?) jumper wires.  That should be viable as well, no?

That would be pretty cool if there was a 2-spade type connector between the two big traces with a large jumper you could just slide on.  Kinda like the little blue shunts work but for higher volts/amps.

Or Very Dangerous if you have the jumper there and plug in both power inputs.

That was my concern also when designing it. Todd had to talk me into it and we decided the way to lessen the chance of a backwards power cord and jumpered board was to make it more a permanant change not a jumper on and off kinda thing.

Yeah I've always wondered about that.  So it would work okay if the polarity was right but bad things happen if reversed?

The problem is if you have two plugs and the internal jumper - by plugging in onr plug, you have the other male plug with energized pins.

Yes, the plan was to make it a more permanant thing thinking the users would be one or the other and not swap back and forth. This way if jumperrd they would install one cord ... safe.

Unjumpered they would install two and safe even if one is backwards.

two cords jumpered is a no no. This is dangerous.

You can run two cords unjumpered as the poster asked and plug both into the same circuit without concern.

Roger that. Makes sense. Yeah, I'm planning on plugging both sides into the same circuit since most of my channels will have only one or two strings of incandescent 100's plugged in.  Thanks for the explanation.
