SSC3 vs SSC4
« on: March 21, 2015, »
Hoping someone could give me some insight, I see there are some SSC3's for sale, from what I understand these are a modified Ver 1 or 2, however, I am new to this and really want to understand if there is something the SSC4's can do that the others don't?

Are there other differences or features that are gained with the SSC4?

There is a separate firmware image available for v3 that has test mode capabilities.

Otherwise the 2 models are nearly identical  in capabilities.

As i undestand it the v3 fixes some distance problems...  but instead of releasing a nearly identical board with the fix RJ went with an update that used a new PIC (processor) and called it v4.

Only thing for you to think about is that the SSCv4 is physically smaller than a V1,2,or 3.  Functionally they are the same.  I've used them all.
