2811 Flex Strip question
« on: October 17, 2016, »
3 questions about 2811 Flex Strips, 30 / meter, 12v

1. Cut lines?  Every 3rd light where pads are located?
2. There is a spot every 18 inches or so that has a solder joint.  That ties 6 lights together.  Any idea?
3. I've read previously that when you turn on 1 light, you actually turn on 3.  How do you address?  Is the node count 1 or 3?

1. Each three LED segment is a complete unit and you can cut on the black line in the middle of every copper pad.
2. You can also cut in the middle of the soldered pad that joins two segments together.
3. With 2811, each segment of three LEDs is controlled as one by the 2811 chip, i.e., the 3 LED will light together. In your software, you will model these as 1 pixel/node. So one 30 LED segment is equal to 10 pixels.
