Wiki - Wireless Manual
« on: July 23, 2009, »
Hi Folks,

Many thanks to RJ for getting the new Manuals ready for us mortals to use. :D

The Transmitter (TX) and Standalone Receiver (RX) are pretty much the same thing so their manuals have been combined into one manual. There is a note in the parts list and step 2 in the  manual  about the difference. Basically the receiver has 3 less parts.

The manual for the Express Receiver Module is not ready yet but it is being worked on.

You can find them in the equipment page of the wiki.

Shortly we should also have a video of the RF module modification that is needed.

Enjoy

Thanks John,

Hey Folks,

The manual for the Express Wireless Module (EX/RX) is now in the wiki.

Also the link to the RF mod should  be working. I need a non beta tester to try to link. To see if it works or not.

The link indicated either a missing file or "out of limits".

Sorry.

Sorry.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for testing the link for me.

I moved the video to another part of the site so it should work now.

Just a warning to everyone. The video file is BIG. 53meg

Cheers

I didn't proceed with the download, due to it's size, but at least it now gives me the opton to do so. Looks fixed now.

For those who are trying Surface mount for the first time.  I found this while researching.

Great video.  Wish I had seen it before I stated with the TX.

I hadn't realized that the RF board was surface mount ... why am I getting nervous?

It's not that bad.  Only one part is surface mount and it is actually made to be hand soldered.

Yeah, I agree. Not bad at all.  The first pad is the hard part making sure it's perfectly aligned. After that, it's a piece of cake.  After your second one you'll be breezing through them like any other component.  --Ron
