Fm transmitter mod
« on: August 06, 2009, »
Hello all,

i have a ramsey fm 10b and the little frequency tuner knob doesn't stay the signal tends to drift.  so i was wondering if someone who knows a little more about electronics than i do could see if this works or not. I was thinking i have a tune cast that i modded the antenna and used for a few years that has an lcd display on it. is is possible to try and somehow attach the lcd to control the signal instead of the little tuner knob?  just an idea, maybe i am way over my head i dont know?

It's not really the knob moving it is the values changing on the parts do to a number of things of which the tempeture is one of the biggest. The unit warms up and values change. We call this drift. The later genration of transmitters uses PLL to do away with this. Not sure you can totally fix drift in one of them.
