TX Firmware Won't Verify?
« on: August 20, 2009, »
I just finished up my first TX and RX build tonight and thus far haven't had much luck getting them to work.  I thought it was going to be an easy fix as I forgot to install the PIC and the RS485 in the RX, but even once I had those installed, still no luck.

I thought the first thing to try would be to reflash the PICs with the appropriate firmware.  I started with the TX, and the PicKit software claims that it is written OK, but when I try to verify it, I get errors found at different locations every time I verify.  I thought by chance that I might have a bad PIC, so I grabbed one of the RX pics and flashed it with the TX firmware and it still won't verify.

I did try reflashing the RX firmware and it verifies just fine.

Do you the the fact that the firmware isn't verifying is a clue to why I'm not getting any wireless love or should I just ignore it and move on to other troubleshooting steps (speaking of which is is there any troubleshooting steps available for the wireless?)

Thanks!
-Chris

It's not about more, it's about enough.
