Jumping the power split?
« on: October 22, 2009, »
Terrible subject line, but I did the best I could. I am going to be using all leds this year so I dont need to run two electrical cords to my expresses. I know you can jump the gap with wire but I was wondering if you can jump it from the top? When I look at the board, it has two holes that I assume are where you would soldier the wire. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Brad

One of the jumpers is under the heat sink so it probably wouldn't be an issue.  However the other is next to the terminal block strip for the outputs.  Depending on what you use to bridge the gap, if you mount the jumpers on top of the board, it might interfere with your output cords.

Do I need to put the right fuse in if I am connecting them?

Brad,

Nope.  single supply, left fuse only required unless you use jumper wires from left supply terminal block to right supply terminal block as some folks do.
