I did, you order many boxes from a place called CDI. Then

Step 1 - remove old minis from your show.
Step 2 - Throw them in the trash can
Step 3 - plug in the DIY mini repair devices (also know as new LEDS)
step 4 - Run out of time to get show ready and not do one! (really, really, cuts down on show work.)

Done!

No mini lights to worry about fixing anymore! LOL

Yeah I know its not what you were looking for.  I am unaware of any DIY buzz boxes. Those units are nice but kinda of expensive. most people use the light keeper pros.

i have a LKP but saw a buzz box in action and wanted to add it to me tool box.. but didnot want to spent the $200 for one.

as far as going LED im still on the fence about it cost a lot to switch over and after reading all the problems some folks have with them (not lasting a season and with dimming) im not sure the technology is where i feel it needs to be to invest $100s or even $1000s  yet.

also i have more than enough power at my house 400 amp service so the power issue is not an issue for me...
