So it is Friday night and my kids ask me and my wife what are we going to be for the Pumpkin Ball at the school on Saturday.   My first reaction was I did not know we were to dress in costume.   So I answered a....... Christmas tree........with lights........that blink........to music........  Of course they thought that would be cool!  So we picked a song (or my wife said try this....that will work).  After dinner I started to sequence a 2 min song.  I got most of it done.

Saturday morning day of the ball.    Finished sequencing.   Now down to the shop to build a MR16 board.  1 hour later all built and working. :)    Now to try out my new LOR mini director I purchased during the summer sale.   Programmed the SD card connected the IDMX.....no blinky.....or audio.  Opps I used a wav file.... it needs an mp3.  Quick fix load the media file and re-programmed the card.  It works!!!   Now to try it all on one 12v battery....it works.  Off to Big Lots to purchase more battery LED's  (I used 10 strings of 20).  I modified the LED's by cutting of the 4.5 volt battery box off the wire and added a 50 ohm 1 watt series resistor.  They all work!!!  Now to find a "fanny pack" to cram all of this stuff it.  It all fits.   It is now about 4:00pm need to leave at 5:30pm.    5:00pm we start wiring me!  200 lights and a roll of Gaff tape later I am all wired.    Out the door to the school.  It was a hit!  I told everyone to come visit our Christmas display!  Next year........ add some wireless DMX and wire the entire family!

A rather unique project!   Thanks RJ for the cool toys!

back to sequencing Christmas 2009.....or Bed.....hmm

Ah I see the error of my way Master Keith. I suppose if OP's name was Mickey then mouser would of had him in stock.

Unbelieveable!

I was worried about the dog for a minute when he walk up to your leg. I thought maybe you looked a little too much like a tree!
