You would just build the wireless receiver and place it anywhere you want and run a cat 5 DMX cable down to the LE.

Do you think it would be a problem to run leads off LE wireless pins so the Rx could be located elsewhere, leaving the LE in its original location?

Just get the stand along RX and run a cat5 from the RX to the LE

Now if you already have the LE/RX and you want to remote it from the LE. I guess you could try the LE/RX mod trick that is use for the SSR4-DMX. MR-16, Freestyle controllers.
