com port error
« on: December 17, 2009, »
show was running fine.  now I keep getting com port 7 denied error on the executing timer control.  went into lynx express config utility program and updated comport, test and get the flicker.  Go back to vixen and error still comes up.  I have my schedule set to use each sequence plugin set up.  restarted computer still no luck.  Seems I can runeach sequence seperatley but not in the scheduler.  Any suggestions

Have you tried using a single profile for all of your sequences when setting up your program?

Also make sure that the cross-fade is set to 0.
Of course, make sure the DMX under tools is disabled.

I'm using the same profile for all my songs,  not sure about the dmx or fade.  How do I check those out?
Thanks,
Bryan
PS  I did have one gfi trip.  don't know if that would affect things.  The show has ran fine for the last 3 weeks until tonight.
No changes have been made.

Thinking about it, if it was working earlier, then your settings are probably correct.

Friend had a similar problem Tuesday night.  Seems like the Vixen "program", ie scheduled program, got partially corrupted.  All he did was add/delete a sequence or move the first sequence to the end and saved again.

Not sure if that will really help though.

show ran for about 15 minutes then shut down with the com port 7 error.  After a bit of looking around I noticed that I had 2 different timer executables for automatic starting.  I deleted 1 and show ran all night.
Hopefully that was the problem.
