Hi Stephen,

Not much info to go on.

1 - Do you have a lynx dongle and is it connected to the computer? If so did you configure vixen properly? See Bill's Videos in the wiki You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
2 - Are you using a adjustable preview with a Large picture with color? This will slow the computer down

The Lynx Dongle along with the Enttec DMX USB Pro are smart boxes that off load the work from the computer to generate the dmx stream. The Enttec DMX open requires the computer to generate the dmx stream.

Screen shots of how vixen is setup would helps us to understand your problem.

Ok I double checked setup only think I come up with is with the device manger com port setup the baud rate was at 96500 so I set it at 115200 my profile is right the drivers are there but if I have a test sequence on it is fine but I have the holdmans music box dancer it locks the screen and you have to wait until the song over but it works

Unless you ran the prepare.exe on the holdman videos I do believe the posted ones were for Vixen 2.1

So really the issue you are having is with the Holdman seq. Try another one

Grab a copy of Vixen 2.1 and see if the holdman show runs better

You can have both versions on your computer at the same time

Vixen 2.5 seems to be more buggy that 2.1

Some people have no problems others do have problems. I started off this year with 2.5 and moved back to 2.1

If I remember correctly, 2.5 will be dropped for a 3.0 version

Cheers

Not knowing any better I used 2.5.0.7,  The issue that i came across was scheduler,  it worked some nights and other i was frustrated.  I could get it running by restarting current timer, but it would not start the next time show.  I kind of gave up and just went along with the program.  What I had to do is recreate the manage settings and reset the scheduler.  But that worked for a couple of nights. So i thought of purchasing Light Show PRO (LSP). Will see!!!
I am going to wait for Vixen 3.0 to come out, and then compare, test and retest.  i would like to have a good show in 2010 without software issues.

I ran Vixen 2.1.x for a month with only one restart due to com port error.

Hopefully KC will keep 2.1 going along with getting 3.0 up and running.
