RJ,..should I jump on this or do you still expect it will go to $4.99 eventually?

No way to know? I bought some cheaper but might be as good as it gets. Do not forget the Aether is not even out yet and everyone needs to know you can not use just any flood light you need the correct one or you will be up a creek. This is not a just make it fit situation. It needs to be correct or you are going to have many issues to deal with as the housing is part of the heatsink.  I believe it is early in the game myself as the pcbs for beta are 2 weeks out. I figure the coop will start sometime in May.

That is why I save my receipts and don't take things out of the box until I know for sure.  I always try to use places that will take stuff back and I've returned stuff over a year old with no problems.

Everyone keeps buying and their stats will show that the product is a good seller. Then eventually the price continues to go up, hard to go down if the product is being ordered and stats show an increase in the order of this item. Supply and Demand.

The other side of that coin is the higher the price the more people are willing to supply, hence driving the price back down.  But, how about that Aether?  Is that like a totally awesome concept.  I am anticipating these results of the beta with fish (bated) breath.    I know only 235 days until lights on!

Time to post something so no one thinks the project died. I am still waiting on the beta pcbs  <md..  some of the requirements for it makes it take longer to get all the art work and ect done. I will have either the new beta unit at the florida mini to show or the prototype seen in the videos weekend after next. I plan to show them in wireless mode to let people see how that works. I have not been able to hurt the prototype even doing some really terrible things to it. (trying to overheat it, putting it in the freezer and then turning it on and taking it out to 90 temp so it had a harsh temp cycle, ect.) like a timex watch  <pop..

For us where we get tons of snow, have you tried freezing it and then turning it on to full force? I'm sure mine would be buried under snow at some point during the winter...

Sorry, I assumed you meant that you put the light in the freezer, and then outside into 90 degree weather WITHOUT turning it on.

If you really want to heat test it you can send it to me in Arizona and I will put it outside in one of our soon to come 120 degree days <md..

It was already subjected to high temps. This was for sudden tempurture changes of being frozen and the turned on and warming up fast.
