Vixen timing problem.
« on: February 08, 2010, »
I am new to using Vixen and still learning the software.

In doing this I converted one of my sequences in LOR2 format to Vixen using the LOR2VIX_V1 converter.

Loaded Vixen and sequence then played the song and watched it in the Visualizer. It looked better in Vixen than in LOR, IMO.

I did notice that the default grid timing in Vixen was 10ms but the sequence in LOR was 50ms grids.

Changed the grid to 50ms and checked that the light functions still aligned with the grids. Replayed the sequence and notice that in the fast parts of the sequence the visualizer would not keep up this the sequence.

Went back and set the grid spacing back to 10ms and ran it again and the visualizer was fine again.

The part of the sequence that gave me the problem was turning many channels off on & off in 100ms intervals while doing a fade down.

Since I do not have any Lynx equipment yet, trying it with actual lights was not possible.
