Problem with V5 PIC
« on: March 06, 2010, »
Just finished my second V5 board and 3.3V and 5V LEDs light up.  However LED 6 lights up and there is no welcome message.  Checked all joints, verified all chips were seated and oriented correctly, etc.

Finally pulled the PIC and swapped it with the one in my first V5 board and the second board worked.  Put the now suspect PIC from the second board into the first and had the same problem.  So it looks like the PIC needs to be reprogrammed.

Did someone else have this problem?   I sorta recall reading a post earlier with something similar, but I can't find the thread.  I wanted to see if that person had the same issue and if the solution was to reprogram the PIC.

Just as FYI - I too have same problem with 1 of 4 LE's.. LED 6 lights up and there is no welcome message, 3 and 5 volts looks good. Took PIC from 4th (yet to build) and it works fine.  Will try reprograming the failing PIC.
Update: Yup, re-flashing tghe PIC fixed it

Strange! they are all programmed on the same device with the same code and they get verified after write. Sorry can't explain this.
