I am interested in a few of these controllers and lights - I think a group purchase may be the best for shipping from China - I would be more then willing to organize it if there is interest.  Going DMX and all RGB will be a BIG move the next few years.

And here is a Coro NorthStar with the same DMX controllers:

That is sharp looking.  Does the price include everything?

That is sharp looking.  Does the price include everything?

$70 for 5050 RGB strip
$56 for controllers
$20 for coro
$5 for misc parts (cat5, wire, staples)

Thank you for the reply.  Can you post pictures of the star (lights and controller).  I am very interested in this project.  The video looks awesome but I can not see the circuit and lights.  I would like to see pictures of your star.  Mainly to see what it is you have.  It looks like it could be used in many show applications.  I have read and went back through this thread.  I would like to know what exactly to buy, where and how it hooks up to DMX.  I see tons of 5050 stuff on Ebay etc.  Power supply is no problem either.  Mainly the controllers and how they are hooked up.

Thank you so much!

Has anyone use LSP with the 3-channel DMX module controller?  What controller type did you add to LSP and how did you configure it?

When I add RGB wall wash and set to use Enttec DMX Pro/Lynx, it doesn't work in test mode or output mode.
When I add a DMX Pro Universe, the first three channels work perfectly in test mode, but during playback with output, only two colors display.  I am toggling channel 1-3 on and off.

Just curious what others have tried.

One thing I find playing with LSP that seems a pain and I really do not understand the reasoning behind is that when for example you add a RGB universe. You must go to each channel and right click choose configure track, then go to the DMX tab and check use intensity 0 - 255 before the channel will work correct ?????

I do not understand this massive amount of work with large channel counts. Should they not default to use intensity?

I am unfamiliar with DMX that does not use intensity???  Must be a LOR version of DMX kinda of thing.

The reason I mention this is that like you I could not get it to work correctly either til I found this out.

Thanks RJ.  Making that additional configeration changed worked.  LSP works, but many workarounds you need to deal with.

Even that isn't true.  LOR uses the DMX values when doing DMX things.  It is just weird for LSP to do that.

Likely one of the best hidden features, the reset channel defaults button, even though it looks greyed out, will allow you reset all the channels to the DMX defaults. See attached screen shot.

I agree that this is a extra un-needed step, but at least it is easier than doing each channel by hand.

Cheers
Phil

Great info Phil. But the part I do not understand is that if that resets it to the default what changed it from default when I setup the controller.

In other words, Add a new DMX universe you expect default settings. But in this case in LSP it is set to not have intensity levels. So I assume this is the default. but since I tryed your button and it did set them all to use intensity then that makes you would think that is the default ??????    ???

Btw David .... Greyed buttons are suppose to mean unavaliable..... So one slap with a wet noodle for you buddy.   ;D

But anyways no matter, Your tip is worth gold thanks. Some day I will get a chance to learn LSP and maybe even use it!  ;D
