Howdy,

I started working on my sequences today and found doing the talking heads nothing short of hell  <wd..

Is there a way to grab the moving bar on the sound and move it back and forth? Having to hit play to get sound and see what lights are on or off is ridiculous. I have to be missing something.

I'm hoping there is something like I use with Adobe Pro where you can move the scroll bar as fast as you want or slow, this way you can match the sound up to the mouth movement.

If this just is the way Vixen works.......Please point me to a program that has more functionality.

Thanks guys!
Al

both, I might add whistle mouth as I get better. My theme "Always look on the brite side of life" and that song has a ton of whistling.

I have 7 talking heads ready for 2010.

Ok if you only have the open and close positions of the mouth then do this.

Save a copy of your seqence and then open the copy.

use the beat tool and select a channel.

Start the song and hit the space bar in rythm to the mouth opening.

When the talking part is done stop.

highlight the channel and save it as a routine called "open"

Now with it still highlighted use the invert copy to make an opposite of the channel and save it as a routine called closed.

Now attach those to the real seqence on the channel for the mouth, your done.

Thats how I do mine.

What is the beat tool?  Are you talking about the function under the audio selection? or have I missed a tool I should know about?  I'm using Vix 2.1.  I sure wish there was an automatic way to set a beat track.

I don,t know if this is what RJ is talking about but what I do is slow the tempo down and pick a channel and when the music plays I hit the right or left Ctrl key to the beat this is all done in the audio part but there might be a another way I am new at all of this.

                                     Hope this helps Jeff

Thanks R.J. that does help.  I'm so use to using a timeline that I can scroll, going to take some time getting use to this.

yeah guys, to get the beat tool click sequence then audio and pick the channel you want to work with. As the music plays hit the control key and it will automatically add on's to that channel.

I found going back and ramping the on's that were set helps the effect.
