Longer Triac Leggs Needed
«
on:

I've finished 5 of 8 LE's and had only a couple of minor troubles. One was a PIC to be reflashed. I found 1 bad rs485 chip. The next problem is my triac leggs are too short for this heat sink. Guess these things happen. Reckon RJ will have another heatsink and rs485 chip to swap out? Thanks:Paul

Hi Paul
Yeah I think you got a bad heatsink. Unless you have one of those triac leg stretchers
How do you know the rs485 is bad? I don't recall hearing them fail.
Did you PM RJ about the heatsink?

yep.... that be a definite oops...... could be used by drilling / threading two holes.... but then the wording would be buried.

rrowan, the data link led didn't come on during testing. I swaped the two chips around and got the data link led on. The LE tested out ok. Swaped them back and no data led.
