I have been pondering the same question for the past few day's ...

I THINK it is a ZIF 28 you need and most people I have talked to and done some reading on Recommend the 2 over the 3.  The one that has been recommended to me multiple times is here ... You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

But someone please correct me / back me up - this is good info.

Any of the three kits that he has that includes the 28 pin ZIF adapter with the PICKIT2 are highly recommended.    I got the kit with 3 adapters and it was at my door almost before the money had transferred from the bank.

He believes in blinky and is straight up honest.

I got mine from Josha1systems.com (same as the ebay store) if it has problems try a new usb cord. I guess they some bad cords lately. I changed out my usb cord and all is well.

Any thoughts, comments, pro or cons, etc on Pickit 2 vs Pickit 3?  I'm ready to buy one but haven't heard if one is better than the other for DLA needs.

Thanks for any input you might have to offer.

Here's one guys review, it's funny but the language is a little spicy, as well as the microchip answer video. I use the PICKit 2, works very well for RJ's stuff. I find it very easy to use.
