ramdom fast blink circuit needed

I'm looking for the easiest way to make or buy a simple circuit to make snowflake shapes flash instantly on power up.  Random or each with different timing. I don't have the snowflake shapes yet so I guess I could use any type of light. However, I also want the snowflakes to be able to be full on and I don't want to use separate circuits for each shape or even groups of shapes. I believe I can do this but just need advice on the flash method.

Unfortunatly the group buy is over for these strobes but you may be able to get some ideas.
