converting from LOR to vixen
« on: November 09, 2010, »
I saw this link and see he has MANY sequences to download.  But they are LOR 1 and 2.  Can both formats be converted to Vixen and be usable for some cut and paste? What do you use?

If you get an error when trying to convert a sequence, it would most likely be 1 of 2 things.

First of all, it must be an LOR 2 file, the converter will not convert LOR 1 files. To get a conversion from LOR 1 to LOR 2, you can download the demo version of LOR and simply open the file and save it agian, that will convert it to LOR 2.

Seconds, if it is an LOR 2 file, you have to make sure that the effects are only on, off, fade up/down, or set intensity, or it will not convert them.

I use the converter all the time because I found LOR before Vixen, and I like sequencing with LOR, but I like Vixen to run the show, and that is the best way to convert LOR files to Vixen.

If you need help converting things, shoot me a PM.

Thank You Rick!  That conversion works like a champ.  I have 15 sequences I did myself (this is my first Xmas).  The first took 50 hours +.  I have just a couple more songs I would like to have and I feel like I am stealing by using others work but I am about of time.  I am looking for Carol Of the Bells by William Joseph or I would take the one by David Foster.  I did one myself by TSO and it looks great but I like the other version also.  The other one is and I doubt I will find it is Popcorn by Hot Butter.

If anyone knows where these two might be, let me know. I am using 144 channels for my first ever computer controlled light show for 2010.

Thanks Guys!

this year I converted my display from lor to vixen :-) and I have jsut one glitch in the system. I have one Lor controller that dose not shut off after the sequence runs through. The firmware has been updated and the dmx dongle and lor cable pinouts are set correct the other three Lor units work fine. O and to add one more strange thing it looks like the all the channels are on at about 50% any ideas on how to fix it would be greatly appericated

I found s lor1 sequence.  I downloaded a demo of the LOR software but it will not let me do a normal save as.  Can someone with LOR software open this and then save it as LOR 2 and re-post it?  Then I can convert it to Vixen.

Thank You
