Setting light curves

I have been testing my 3 LE units for several weeks using a few test light strings plugged into each unit.  However I have never used the configuration utility to set the "light curves".  Exactly what will this do?  The units seem to be working without that step but if it is something I need to do I can do it.  I am just not sure exactly what this does.

If you are happy then nothing else needs to happen.

It is not like they do not function correctly without it. 

here is another couple posts on the same lines that may help you understand a little better. The bigthing to understand is that LNT is an enhancment to the system, not a fix for it. It works just like other equipment without it but with it you can take it to a new level.
