V1 PCB with V2 parts?

I am building a  dongle for a friend and have a V1 PCB. I just ordered the parts from mouser and was wondering if I can use a v1 board with the new parts as I have one sitting here.

I found in the wiki the difference
...Added Status LEDs, Jumper for Test Mode, Update Firmware

I assume I can just build without the newer parts, but will a version 1 pcb work  with the new firmware?
