Newbie Freestyle Question
« on: December 03, 2010, »

I have been looking to us a Freestyle in my show next year. Can I use 8- 16 channel Express instead of 32- 4 Channel SSR 4?

             Thanks for the help

Greetings,,,

The FreeStyle is completely separate from the Express.  You can use the Expresses, with built in AC output, or a FreeStyle with the SSR4s as AC output.  Or SSR4s with the DMX option.  Most people would choose the Expresses these days.  It's more advanced for AC control.

Hi Mike

You don't need the freestyle if you want to use the Express. The Express is much more advance than the freestyle
The Express can be link together by a cat5 cable but the Freestyle has no way to control the express.

So if that didn't confuse you. :)

With the Freestyle you can only control SSR4s. Think the FS as the boss and the SSR4s as workers.

The Express is the Boss and Worker all in one case.

Hope that is clearer than mud

So what you are saying is the Freestyle was good in it's day but now the Express is King & go with it. You sold me Express only next year.

            Thanks Mike

Hi Mike

uh, I was just providing information.
I use the FS, LE, SSR4s even the first Lynx
They all work well but the LE has the most advance features.

The other bonus with the LE  is there will be coops soon for it and not the FS. Which does save you money on the parts.

Cheers
