Two channels not working properly
« on: December 06, 2010, »
A strange problem came up the other night on one of my v5 LE's. Channel 12 and 15 turn on during the test mode. I can turn them on using my LOR test console but they will not turn on during a sequence.
I unplugged thel lights from those two channels and tried some different light sets but still came up with the same issue. Anyone ever heard of such an issue.

what start channel is set on the LE?

what happens if you set the controller start channel 1 and run a test sequence in LOR?

It is the last LE in line. Starting Channel is set to 33.
I don't think I can set it to one? My wireless is on my number 1.

Since its the last LE in the line did you set the termination Jumper?

You didn't turn off those channels in your seq software did you?

I assume LE-12 = Channel 44 and LE-15 = Channel 47

Have you tried putting the LE first in line before the LORs?  Last year we were using both LOR and LE, we did see some strange issues like some channels not firing.

It's not about more, it's about enough.

I have one output of my USB RJ45 Serial Adapter with Booster
going to my LOR and the other output going to my IDMX
Then wireless to the first LE and Cat5 to the next 2.

had you tried wired to see if there is any difference?

tried setting up a simple test sequence that just steps through channels 1-48 to see if anything looks odd?

switched outputs from your "booster"?

setup one of the LOR controllers to controller3 to see if you have the same issue?

Really strange. I switched  the starting channel to 001 and those channels seemed to work. I only ran it for a bit like this as there were people showing up trying to watch the show.

I'd like to know which channels on the LE are not working properly.  The reason I ask is I have two LE's in my yard where channel 12 fails to work most but not all of the time.  In my DMX universe they are channels 60 and 108.  They are downstream from an IDMX as well.  Once the season is over I intend to conduct some testing to see if I can isolate the problem.

Well I am an idiot. In the rush to get everything reconfigured for the big day I somehow got going way too fast and missassigned those two channels. They were suppose to be 11 44, and 11 47 but when I checked the LOR channel properties grid they were assigned as 11 3 and 11 4.
