Program management problem
« on: December 16, 2010, »
All the sequences work with hardware one at a time at testing. But when I try to put them together in the Program event management the first one works. But every one after that doesn't light the sequences LEDS on the Express controller. So I know it is not a hardware problem.  No error messages.

When you setup your program, make sure that "Use a profile" is selected.

IF you don't have an individual profile setup, then open up one of the sequences and "create profile from sequence" and save it.

In this profile, turn off the preview plug-in and setup the Entec Pro plug-in with the correct number of channels and comm port.
It's not about more, it's about enough.

I have open a profile. Unless I didn't do some thing correct. Not sure how to use a sequence to make a profile. I still not getting the group sequence to go farther then one sequence.

Open vixen - click on Sequence - pick a sequence once it opens click on Profile and select Attach profile to Sequence choose the profile you use click on it . Your done, you can also remove a profile from a sequence the same way. Make sure you use the profile that you made. Also you might want to check out Xlights I have been useing it and no more comport denied messages or output plugin errors works GREAT. Hope this helps

OK. I added a profile using a sequence. I tried to attaching a sequence to the profile. I couldn't.  I still have the same problem. I can't play more then one sequence with the lights working. I switch the order of sequences and same thing.

Where are you located?

Install the free software from logmein.com.  Then one of us can connect up to your computer and see what you are doing and find the problem.  We will be able to watch what you do and / or you can watch what we do.  I use this with customers all the time.  Get it installed, post your phone number and then one of us can give you a call or you can PM me and we can set up a mutually convenient time for both of us to work on this.  You can give me or whomever the information over the phone that will be needed to connect up to your computer.  DO NOT POST THAT INFO HERE.

How much memory do you have in the machine, what timing is the sequence.  what is the average file size of the sequence ...

Set the timing setting to say 100 or so maybe even 150 this will decrease the size of the Sequence file if the sequence timing was say 10.

close or uninstall programs you don't use.

put only one sequence in the show setup.

if the sequence runs in the editor one at a time it is likely not enough memory but not in the a program.

How about creating a zip file and include the following folders from Vixen
Profiles, Programs, Sequences

So we can take a look at the problem instead of taking wild guesses

More information on my Vizen program. I can run two sequences fine now. But when I run any more all the sequences stop blinking the lights. The music keeps playing. I go back and and replay the sequences one by one in test mode and the lights start play correct in the program untill I add more then two sequences to the program.
