Sequence Question
« on: December 27, 2010, »
When programming a sequence in Vixen, there is a "Loop" button that works while the program is open, but did not work for me when i closed and reopened the software later. How do i get a continuous loop cycling through 3 channels for the actual light display?  ???

Hi Spider236

To run a show you need to look at the Vixen Programs menu
First click on Manage menu item under Programs which brings up another window
There will be 3 columns, in the middle column click on the blue plus icon to create a Program for your show.
Once you enter a name then you can drag your seq over to the third column
Click the Use program's plugin setup option at the bottom of the middle column and then click on the plugin setup where you enter your com port info
Click the ok and allow vixen to save the changes.

Click on the program menu again and select Schedule
Right click on the yellow area and select add
Select at the top of the new window select program
Set the start date and time
Click on the checkbox for the repeat until and select the end time.
If you want it to repeat for each day then select Recurrence and select daily
You can modify the start and end date
Click ok
Click ok
If you select a time already pass for today then click on Programs menu and then restart current timers
If you did everything correctly and Vixen doesn't report any errors it should start your show.

or

download and install xlights
copy your seq and audio to a single folder (note: currently xlights requires audio for each seq)
run xlights xmenu
set the folder to the one you just created
set the network (ie: lynx dongle, com port X, 115200, 512)
run xscheduler from the menu
create the playlist (ie: your seq(s)
click on the wizard script
save your playlist
click on the blue play triangle and the show will run
click on stop button
click on the calendar
select your play list and your start and end times
highlight the days you want and click on set
as long as the xscheduler is running your show will run

clear as mud?

Cheers
