I used 6 inch acrylic globes , Everything bought at Home Depot

You almost could drill a couple holes in the side near the top for a pegboard hook, to hold a wreath.   ;D

Glad you liked the plug idea.  It has come in extremely useful!!  I actually plan on modifying them a little this year and placing a DMX SSR4 inside of the pipe to control a few plugs up the back. Adding the wireless option will be a great thing too.

I built those 4 years ago and they are still going strong.  I actually have mine still outside buried under about 10 inches of snow.

Right now I have these 1ft tall light up candy canes that I bought at big lots (like 20 sets or so). They really look like crap when compared to the size of the rest of my display.
I was thinking of doing these north poles, but adding a wide radius U-shaped bend at the top, so that they would look like larger than life candy canes...I could then drill holes and add red lights as necessary for nighttime.

Lots of possibilities, not just for north poles. :D
