Dongle Test

I finally have a power cable to my newly completed Dongle. My question, is there any tests that can be done to know it was assembled correctly.  When I plugged it in the red LED came on but not the green LED, do I need a Cat 5 cable plugged in to get the green LED on?
I do not at this time have any Lynx boards to test with, I am in the current COOP so it should be here soon. Thanks for all the help.

Send it data it does not know or care if anything is plugged in. If you get a green led kind of lightly flickering to large channel changes you are most likely in business.
