Wireless V2 PCB(s), cases ?
« on: February 11, 2011, »
I know there was a Wireless v2. coop in 2010 ... just a few questions for this newbie:

(1) can PCB(s) be obtained (now) for the dmx wireless tx/rx and ex/rx projects?

(2) is it anticipated that there would be another wireless coop in 2011 sometime?

(3) availability of cases/enclosures for the TX/RX ?

re: 3 ... I believe the recent case COOP had cases for the dmx dongle, which are also the same as those used for tx/rx, correct?
(if so, then good, because I did order 4 of them)

It looks like based on the 4/2010 v2 wireless coop that the savings on parts was fairly small, but was wondering if RJ or another member
stocks these PCB(s) year round?

Thanks,
Scott / taybrynn

1.  Check DLA Store to see if he has the PCB's available
2.  Depends on if a Co-Op manger wants to run one
3.  Depends on if a Co-Op manager wants to run one, or a blank case can be ordered from ploycase.  The part number is in the Wiki
Some users may have cases left over from the last Co-Op.

3.A. Yes the same case but the dongle has a extra square hole that the TX/RX does not

Sometimes, yes there is not a lot of savings due to factors beyond control, but parts did come out cheaper and sorted to the Co-Op members door.

I checked with RJ already and he is out of TX/RX boards.  If anyone has an extra one of those boards I'd be interested too. I already have the EX/RX boards. Thanks.

Scott,

The actual case from the vendor is the same for both the Wireless TX/RX V2 and the DMX Dongle V2.  The difference is when we do a coop we get them customized with the necessary openings for the connectors and LEDs.  Here are pics of the two.  For the wireless cases wbeuhler ordered them with flanges which makes mounting easier but they are not required.  That being said the Dongle cases you ordered in the coop won't really work for Wireless TX/RX.

I'd also be interested in a wireless DMX PCB group buy.
Thanks

Have you placed your vote in the poll?

RJ, informed me that they will be having some wireless PCB coops. But it will be a few months.

Last year, Bill ran the wireless coop in the april timeframe. With the mega smartstring coop on his plate, I would not expect him to take on anything new anytime soon... Also, RJ and family are digging their way through the parts for the express coop, so I would not expect anything there real soon either. There are some other coop managers, but realize that running a coop is a big commitment of time and energy with no pay. They deserve much praise and appreciation.

With the interest that is out there, I expect a coop to happen, but for now all we can do is watch and wait...
