I have the pic 3 programming kit from joshua with all of the different boards. i have all of the pins on L that are supposed to be.I didnt do this in my programming but is it supposed to have the resister like in this one You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. just wondering if i was supposed to have used a resistor. maybe it didnt program right.

What software are you using to program it and are you using the correct firmware.  You should be able to read it back to confirm if it was written correctly.

pic 3 application ver 0.3.3.0 and i also tried mplab ver 8.63. but is it suppost to have a resistor?

  • ahhh, yes... my new blink-i-nator 3000!!!
on that chip. there is nothing else to configure except all the L jumpers at the top.
To rule the entire tri-state area!  What's that? Perry the Platypus!!!

No resistor is necessary if you are using the board from Joshua.

If you have the Pickit 3 Programmer (software)
with the pic24f2450 in the board from Joshua Systems, and jumpers set to L
and connected to the Pickit 3

1 Close the PICkit 3 Programmer software if it's already open.
2 Open the PICkit 3 Programmer software.
3 Choose the PIC18F2450 in the drop down list.
4 On the left, just above where it says Program Memory, click on the button that says "Read"
5 after if gets done, just slightly below where where you choose the PIC18F2450, it should say "Checksum:" with a value of 0A6F.

To rule the entire tri-state area!  What's that? Perry the Platypus!!!
