LOR CCB's Smart Strings
« on: March 20, 2011, »
I can not believe what LOR is about to ask for customer to pay for the new CCB's,  $100 for a string of 50! $200 for a 100 String. insane...

70 cents/node + controller and power suppy + 100% markup.
Of that markup, 80% is the cost of business - buildings, employees, storage, etc. Net profit is only about 20%.
Seems like the price is dead-on to me.

Another consideration,  I was planning to run LED C-9's along the front roof line.  If I find them on sale at $1.00 each and need 100 that is $400 for red, green, blue and white.  With no controller.  With LOR's  CCB at $200 Not only do I get the bulbs but I have a controller and any color I want.  It will save me a lot of money in this application and when they go on sale, the price will be around $160 for the 100 ccb.  Not bad.

Actually their pricing isn't bad when you consider what you get.
