SS Order arrives

Placed my order on March 5 and got a email that it was shipped on March 31. Emailed Ray about where is my order after seeing everyone else get their orders. Got a email back saying my order would be shipped in 2 days and he would do better next time.

I got an email my order shipped that I placed on Sunday 4-10-11.  I Hope it is a valid one.  When I track it with DHL it shows it is moving?

Actually, Ray pulled this one on me  .

He sent me a tracking number, and I tracked it all the way to seattle.  It said that it was "with carrier for delivery".    Around 5:00 I hadn't seen it yet, so I checked the DHL website again and this time it said, "please contact DHL".  So I called, and they said that the sender had changed the destination of the package, and it was headed to Illinois  .

This all happened last friday.  Ray gave me another tracking number within an hour, and my package showed up monday afternoon (fast shipping!).  Ray also threw a couple extra goodies in the box for my to play with, so it all worked out for me  .

I've been playing with smart strings ever since!

I'm glad others are having success with their orders.  I'm still waiting for a valid tracking number from Ray even after asking him several times what is happening.  I placed the order end of Feb and had a shipping date of March 19.  I haven't seen anything show up or my tracking numbers change.  I got an extension on my shipment but that is all at this point.  I have 7 days on timer; we'll see.  On the plus side he is always very pleasant in his coorespondances.

this may help, but it seems like once you talk to him and ask about the shipment, he usually responds and says it's shipped. then the following day, you get a tracking number, and it shows as shipping out the next day.  it's worth a try

as far as the smell of the smart strings, my power supply just came in, and stinks more

It is real.  The driver called me on my cell.  It will be waiting on me after work today.  YEA!!!!  Ordered Sunday and got them Thursday.  WOW.... that is fast!

My order came in and of course I was not here to receive it and found the tag on my door.

My order came in and of course I was not here to receive it and found the on my back door because I left a signed note with the tracking number on it on the front door and said to put it on the back porch.

Got mine today!!

4 Flexible Strips
1   string of 50
10 strings of 128
4   strings of 129
1   string of  131

Of those most are sealed well except for the following:
1 uncoated node
About 70 nodes that are just barely poking thru at the edge of the chip or the top of the board.
(which is about 4% not perfect sealed rate)

I place my order on March 7.
Overall, I am pretty happy with my order.

I also came home to a note on the door.  Signed the note and have something to look forward to tomorrow.

Ordered Mar 5, 2011. Website said shipped 3/13/11 but they did not actually ship until after I sent a message on 4/2/11. Order then shipped on 4/6/11 and a DHL tracking number was supplied but the web tracking information was never updated. Order was received on 4/13/11. Of the 16 strings ordered 15 had all 75 nodes, one had 68.
There are a large number of nodes that have exposed solder joints or components breaking through the surface. I counted approximately 90 nodes that were exposed, others were close to the surface but not counted. Average 6 per string, low of 3 high of 14.

I'm a little worried about the ability of these to withstand the weather.
I have a few days left before need to accept the shipment and commit the money, not sure what I should do.
