well today I pulled the battery and let it sit for about an hour. whin I put the battery back in and plugged it into the wallwart it started working. not sure what was going in but its now working. I does have the problem where I can't set the minute hand but I just waited untill the half hour and its now set.

Glad you got it working!

 I am just hearing about the 30 minute after thing but still not sure what the issue is as I can set mine at anytime.
